Travis Haughton
School
Bad: Back of head dominating photo, pictures of signs, and blocked important faces
Good: strangeness and activity
I did not like the photographer very much. His style was uninteresting.
Josh Birnbaum
wheelchair sports
Bad: no moments captured, no story, not good quality
Good: in some he had a good opportunity and some looked professional
I was not impressed with this photographer either. Nothing special to me.
Melissa Golden
home life
Bad: important part out of focus, no story, messy
Good: some effective photos, some good focus
This photographer had some good photos, but overall I didn't love her.
Dustin Snipes
best eye for photography, thought of all aspects
his photos just look very clean and well thought out
Contest Recap
It seemed like the judges already had picked their winner beforehand, but they went back and did an overview of every photographer individually and after going over Dustin Snipes' portfolio, the winner was pretty clear.

Architecture Preview

Sculptured House, USA
1. Charles Deaton
2.1966
3. Genesee, CO
4. Private
5. $100,000
6. It was not built for a certain reason. It has appeared in movies and TV shows, though.
7. I picked this building because it has a certain look that I like. It's a very retro, cool place and all the windows give it a certain feel.
Turning Torso, Sweden
1. Santiago Calatrava
2. August 2005
3. Malmö, Sweden
4. There are offices and apartments inside the building.
5. I could not find information on how much it costed to build.
6. It was built to enhance and enlarge a public area.
7. I picked this building because it is very unique in the way that it is a curved and twirling building. I like how it has many floors and it is big, but doesn't take up a lot of space because it is skinny.
The Crooked House, Poland
1. Szotynscy & Zaleski
2. 2004
3. Sopot, Poland
4. This building is open to tourists.
5. It does not specify the building price.
6. It does not specify why it was built.
7. I chose this building because it looks kind of like a house you would find at Disneyland, but at the same time it is pretty modern colored and styled. I like its uniqueness.

Action Photos

Sensory Overload

1. I agree with this statement because it is true that we surround ourselves with the things we own in our personal lives and our personal environments wouldn't be the same without it. As a photographer I feel that taking pictures of the objects we surround ourselves with is just as important as taking photos of the earth.
2. As I looked through the images, I didn't really find an interest from a photography standpoint. I don't think I would want to take pictures of these things.
3. It would most likely be super exciting and fun for a child to have a parent that worked at one of these places.
4. My favorite photo out of these was the one of all the flowers. It is a pretty photo.
